when i get home is not a seat at the table two. it was never gonna be that. solange wanted to do something more earthy, sensual and accessible this time around. it’s still Black as fuck, feminist as fuck, still poetic as fuck. artists need to experiment and explore. this album may be the catalyst for another project down the road that blows our minds. when i get home is an album made for repeated listens with no skips! it’s a mood, it’s a vibe, as the kids say. get into it or don’t.
